KEY QUESTIONS

Does it work?    Yes!
What is it?     It’s a Non Moving Mechanical tool.
How does it work?    It conditions fluids.
How does it benefit us?    It prevents deposition and De-Scale existing deposits.
Will it affect current operations?   No and it will complement existing configurations.
Where do you install these tools?     Upstream of key equipment – either downhole or after wellheads.
How do you install them?    Extremely easily – less than a day. Either slickline or piping contractor.
Where has it been used before?    All over the USA, Canada and in Oman.
How much will it benefit us?     Benefits far outweigh the cost you, over the life of the well. Payback can be less than a month.
How can we test the workability of the tools?    In a field trial.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

Flo-rite tools treat the fluids, not the pipes. Every drop of fluid is treated at source, before it reaches any equipment, by magnetic conditioning. As the fluid passes through the magnetic fields, the molecules of the impurities are affected in a way that prevents molecules from precipitating out of production and onto the tubing or equipment. Continuous magnetic exposure:

  • Cleans existing deposition
  • Prevents precipitation of impurities in the fluid;
  • Prevents new and future build-up of these deposition;
  • Reduces need for scale inhibitors input and de-scale the impurities inside the pipes or tanks;

This treatment does NOT put anything in to, or take anything out of, production. The result is:

  • Smooth flowing fluid inside the tubing;
  • Stops scaling, Prevent new scale build-up and De-scale existing deposition inside the tubings;
  • Homogenous fluids inside tanks, rather than sludge build up;
  • Circulation Loop system via pumps, ensures no segregation of fluids inside crude and petroleum product tanks

TECHNICAL SUMMARY

HSE

  • Fewer variables, fewer chemical-related risks;
  • No storage or drum disposals required;
  • Easy installation and maintenance;

Fluid Properties

  • Improved fluid (crude/water) flowability without changing fluid characteristics;
  • Eliminate/Reduce emulsification process;

Well/Pipeline Integrity

  • Installation and tool function does not intervene with wellbore design or operations;
  • Installation of tools does not depend on perforation location, and does not influence reservoir flow design;
  • Installation of tools follow current piping configuration;

Topside Equipment

  • Better fluid quality reduces surface equipment wear and maintenance (Asset Lifecycle Enhancement);
  • Functionally complements topside equipment and raising operational efficiency;

Operations

  • Scale/Wax reduction prevents downtime, reduces maintenance and prevents manhour losses;
  • Scale/Impurities stays in solution, allowing for easier transfer to tanks;
  • Solubility of scale/wax/emulsion is almost permanent, and no cases of build-up post-MFC treatment;
  • MFC becomes enabler tool for corrosion inhibitor treatment;
  • Treated crude gives better financial value to Operators;

COMMERCIAL SUMMARY

Tool cost & warranty

  • Tools procurement can customised  OPEX versus CAPEX;
  • Rates vary according to sizes and specifications;
  • Acts as a preventative maintenance tool, giving value over time;
  • At the same time, the tools aid production efficiency for Operators;

Installation Cost

  • Installation extremely easy and quick, as tools are robust;
  • Cost is as per current standard slickline conveyance rate or workover installation;
  • Easily one day completion for mandrel hung tools;
  • Easier for spool-designed flow line or Surface units;

Value Gain

  • Anticipated scale/wax/emulsion removal direct cost to be lowered;
  • Chemical usage will be reduced, direct/indirect manhours cut, wax cutting eliminated or reduced;
  • Topside equipment life extended;
  • Workover intervals extended due to flowing wells thus giving production value gains;
  • Production rate could be increased to design capacity or stabilised;
  • Reduce maintenance frequency caused by scale/wax issues.
